Dennis McGrath (Los Angeles, USA)

Dennis McGrath (b. 1969) is a photographer based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California.

He began his career traveling worldwide shooting skateboarders for Big Brother, Slap, and Transworld skateboarding magazines.Taking those opportunities to not only shoot the skateboarders but the world around him.

Starting in 1995 He began documenting one skater in particular, Lennie Kirk, a singular character whose life tells a greater life story through Dennis’ pictures and ephemera. That work is not yet published.

In 2004 He began shooting on the sets of xxx-rated adult films, documenting the tricks of that trade from his outsider’s perspective.

His work has been exhibited in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York City. He is also a long time contributor to Hamburger Eyes photography magazine. He currently works with the artist Ed Templeton as a master printer when he is not out shooting.
