Lotta Volkova

A stylist and consultant who has consistently defined the energy of things to come, Lotta Volkova was born in Vladivostok, Russia and currently lives between Paris and Los Angeles and works internationally. Spending her formative years pursuing Photography and Fine Art at London’s Central Saint Martins College, she later channelled her myriad creative interests into a styling focus. For Volkova, styling is about the thrill of the encounter, a constant exploration of how fashion can explore different cultures, subcultures, and codes of dress across eras, and express them anew.
Volkova’s love of storytelling across mediums has led to styling and consultancy roles with Miu Miu, Ferragamo, Blumarine, Chloe, Givenchy, Saint Laurent, Burberry, Mowalola, Hodakova, All-In, Jenny Fax, as well as an invitation to develop exclusive capsule collections for Adidas and Jean Paul Gaultier. Thriving off creative collaboration, Volkova also played a key role in forging the identity behind Demna Gvasalia’s Vetements and, later, the designer’s Balenciaga: there, she helped shape the brands’ aesthetics through her involvement in casting, styling and consulting on the collections, until her departure in 2018.
Volkova’s editorial work has appeared in the pages of titles such as Vogue Italia, Double, Self Service, Re-Edition, System, DAZED, AnOther and i-D. Her collaborators include photographers Steven Meisel, Juergen Teller, Richard Kern, Moni Haworth, Harley Weir, Kristina Nagel, Michella Bredahl, Lengua, Zoe Ghertner, Tyrone Lebon, Marili Andre, Alessandro Furchino, Photographer Hal, Julie Greve, Collier Schorr and Johnny Dufort.
